Legendary Pu-erh Tea Master Lu Li-Chen & Artisanal Teas from Taiwan

Mr. Lu (or Lü Li Zhen) is the main artisan behind the revival of Yiwu's brick and mortar artisanal Pu-erh (Puer) tea cake. In the 1990s, Mr. Lu and the surviving local craftsmen brought back the micro tea makers' traditional Puer cake methodology after decades of demise. Yiwu, home to high-quality Raw Puer Tea on the southern border of China, is once again bustling with artisans crafting this centennial craft was revived. The region now thrives with Puer creation. 

Mr. Lu's Puer has been decorated with multiple accolades for many years that Puer has come back to life. His streaks include the grad prize in 2010 for his Zhenwei Hao, the signature premium Puer. He's also been at the forefront of promoting Taiwan's artisanal oolong tea for the past couple of decades, starting with his helming position at the international tea association.

World-famous Iron Goddess interpreted the Taiwanese way

When Iron Goddess (Tieguanyin) was first introduced on the beautiful land of Formosa, or Taiwan, the tea makers also brought the skills to cultivate this traditional varietal. The rocky cliffs of Wuyi is best known for its Zhengshan's small leaf black tea, Lapsang Souchong, from the Wuyi mountain's old name. 

Various cultivars and varietals of teas in this area all embrace the rocky energy of the Wuyi mountain, and Iron Goddess, the most masculine of them all, is no exception. 

Iron Goddess has a uniquely masculine, clean earth tones in the beginning that fades into sweet, lingering notes. It's no wonder many other non-traditional varietal tries to mimic the flavors with additives. 

Make no mistake, this Iron Goddess from Zhenwei is the authentic Tieguanyin varietal revered by the world.
